How To Have A Unique Fiftieth Anniversary Party For Your Parents

If your parents will soon celebrate fifty years of being married, no wonder you want to honor them. And, if you have decided to host a unique event, they'll see that you put a great deal of thought into their anniversary party. From sending out special invitations to finding the right restaurant, here are some ideas that might help you to plan a fun and memorable event for your parent's fiftieth anniversary party.

The Invitations - Unless you have decided to host a surprise party, it might be a good call to include your parents in making out the invitation list. Determine from the very beginning how many guests will be invited to celebrate with you and your parents. For example, if you have already decided to have the party at your home, you may not be able to have as many guests as if you were to have a party at an event center.

Think of sending clever invitations through the mail. For example, it might be fun to put a picture of your parents on their wedding day on the front of the invitation. Another idea would be to have a then and now picture, depicting them both on their wedding day and in a more recent photograph with all of their children and grandchildren.

The Main Event - Since you have decided to host a unique celebration, consider having a theme. For instance, if your parents enjoy Japanese food, think of reserving a private room at a Japanese sushi restaurant. Even if you host the event at your home, a Japanese sushi restaurant will more than likely cater the event. The menu will probably include many different types of sushi, plus other foods that are more familiar to your guests.

If you do decide to go to a Japanese sushi restaurant for your parent's fiftieth anniversary celebration, be sure to let the restaurant know well ahead of time how many guests will be attending. In addition, it might add to the fun for you to go to the restaurant before the event to do some of your own decorating on the tables. Framed pictures of your parents from the time they were married until present day would be perfect table decorations.

Think about sending each person home with a party favor. A pretty bookmark with a picture of your parent's as part of the design would be a great little gift.
